Meet the Founders
How A Sista's Touch Began

Dr. Shelitha Campbell, Co-Founder, CEO & Board Vice President
Dr. Jaliza Johnson, Co-Founder, COO, & Board President
A Sista’s Touch was born from a shared vision to honor, uplift, and influence the narrative surrounding the impact of Black women and girls within our families, communities, and beyond.
As college educated Black women, wives, mothers, nurses, members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and community advocates, we understand firsthand that navigating life is complex. Our journeys have been shaped by resilience, faith, education, family, service, and the strength of the women who came before us. While rewarding, we recognized that many Black women and girls were navigating similar experiences, often without spaces intentionally created to affirm, inspire, and empower them.
Rooted in our lived experiences and our passion for service, A Sista’s Touch was created from the belief that healing, growth, and empowerment happen best in community. As we raised children, cared for families, and witnessed the strength and wisdom of our parents and elders, we began asking an important question: How are others navigating these same moments in life, and how can we come together to support one another?
From that question, A Sista’s Touch emerged, grounded in the belief that there is power in learning, growing, and thriving together. Through culturally responsive programs centered on prevention, empowerment, education, advocacy, and celebration, we seek to inspire Black women and girls to recognize their value, embrace their potential, and build stronger communities together; through our collective strengths.
We believe the influence of A Sista’s Touch, is powerful, valuable, worthy of celebration, and essential to creating lasting change.
